## Origin: Paul Chan, Pureprofile, and the bet on structure.

Paul Chan built and floated the online research company Pureprofile on the belief that data, gathered and structured properly, is worth more than any single insight pulled out of it. Twenty further years of building moved the bet from data to structure: the decisions, standards and reasoning behind good judgement, captured and reused.

Expertise normally held in one person’s head: a lawyer’s instinct, a consultant’s judgement, an operator’s standards. Techne turns it into something a company runs on, rather than something that leaves when the person does.

The premise: good ideas fail more often from missing structure than missing talent. Techne backs the practitioners and businesses ready to build this way, and supplies a foundation that is already agentic instead of one they invent from scratch.
